# BluelightAI > BluelightAI builds Cobalt, an AI interpretability platform for banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI). Our work combines Topological Data Analysis (TDA, invented at Stanford by our founder Gunnar Carlsson) with Mechanistic Interpretability (cross-layer transcoders, sparse autoencoders, circuit tracing) to make AI decisions auditable by design. BluelightAI is an AI safety and interpretability company headquartered in the United States. We work directly with BFSI teams to build interpretable decision agents, audit model reasoning, and deploy Cobalt for ongoing interpretability. Our research is grounded in mathematics: topology and mechanistic interpretability. ## Core concepts - **Cobalt**: our TDA-powered interpretability engine.
